Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athletically inclined child and found her passion to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed third in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. The youngest winner of the 200-meter race in the world championships in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, by beating the long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently among the top three athletes in each of her events.
