Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident from the moment she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed third in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school and signed a professional deal with the sports company Adidas before enrolling in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s, setting a new junior world record. She became the youngest world athlete to win the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed in the top three of athletes in each of her events.
